When he said that in the press conference I was very excited. The first official sign that I like him better then Dooley. There aren't a great amount of good players that come out of our state but they all need to be wearing orange and white. It's great to know he plans to do well recruiting in state.

Glad to see he plans to pay attention to our in-state talent. Nick Saban hasn't heard the report that Tennessee has no in-state talent, he recruits here all the time and has several players from the state on his roster. Tennessee is smaller population wise than Florida and Georgia, which means that statistically there are going to be fewer 4 and 5 star recruits, but it doesn't mean that there aren't schools in Tennessee that know how to play football and turn out quality players. That said, of course we will have to recruit regionally and nationally to compete with Bama, Florida, Georgia, etc., but we should glean the talent that we do have here. Good job to CBJ for recognizing that.

Win your rivalry games, put players in the league, compete for high level bowls every year. I know it sounds easy but it isnt in this league. Winning the state recruiting battles are always a tricky thing, but beating your rival teams Vandy, Bama, and UF are all good starts to catching recruits eyes. Show improvement every year, show player development progress, and win your key games it is all a good start.

Marshall County versus Spring Hill may never make Friday Night Lights, but I sure got tired of watching Dontae Hightower wearing Bammer red and beating our brains out.
