  • I was pleasantly surprised to see him mentioned in the VIP room as a potential target. My son and his friends say he is a very high character kid. He shows as a pro style qb, but has terrific wheels. I would have to think that the proximity of Knoxville would draw his interest. (For those outside of metro Atlanta, going north from Alpharetta is much better than south or west from a traffic flow standpoint. It can take as along as 2-3 hours extra drving south and west on a Friday afternoon). Is there mutual interest here? Why didn't he have an offer before, either from Cincy or UT?

FWIW, I think he played a lot of football with Carl Lawson, before Carl transferred to Milton. It wouldn't hurt there, either.

New edit: My wife knows Josh and his mother from Young Man's Service League. She says they are terrific people. My wife is never wrong about these things. I have been married for 30 years and I have learned my lesson.

    Hey cpa, HNY!

I agree with you distance-wise on getting to Knoxville from Alpharetta, but roadwise as the crow flies you have the mountains in the way and that is slow going. Do you really go up 400 to get to Knoxville, or do you head west to hit 75?

Depends on the time of day. In rush hour I will go up 575 to 5 and then across on 136. Usually can get to Chattanooga in 2 hours, if I can get out of Alpharetta.

On the other hand, we visited Alabama with my son a couple of weeks ago. It took us 3 hours to get to the villa rica exit leaving at 415!

    HNY to you too!

OK, I got you. Sadly, from where I live, I pretty much have to go across 285 and up 75 and as you know, that's miserable on a Friday aftermoon. Offpeak, though, it's not a bad drive at all.

  • Should have also mentioned that I love it anytime the Vols go after a talented metro ATL prospect. UT is a perfect spot for Atlanta area kids who want to get away, yet want to be able to get home with a decent drive.
