Just for conversation, how would you guys feel about reuniting the Fulmer, Cutcliff, Chavis staff? Give Fulmer $3.5M, Cutcliff $2M, and Chavis $1.5M.

You are giving Fulmer alot more than he was paid prior to being let go, especially considering he hasn't had alot of bites from other bigtime schools, that we know of. Are you Jimmy Sexton? JK.

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't that trio 60-12 including 06/07. Three SEC appearances, 2 titles and essentially one NC. All that in 6 full seasons add a trio.
That is pretty good if you ask me.

That trio was amazing. I've all ways been of the opinion that its not good for a program to go back like that. However, Snyder at K-state is doing a heck of a job and might be changing my mind.

Hind sight is always 20/20. Those boys are laughing their asses off at us right now. I wasn't on the "Fire Phil" wagon myself just yet. He should have won the 2001 National title too, but I would have given him one more year to rebound. Kiffin had his graduating recruiting class, and they were a meager 7-6.?? It was the good days though!

Can't agree with the payroll but I too subscribe to the Snyder idea. I'd probably go for it. They're a helluva lot better than anything we've done since Fulmer and Chavis were canned.

That staff would take something more like Fulmer 5M, Cutcliff 4M, and Chavis 4M. Jon Gruden, Mike Gundy, Bob Stoops, or Charlie Strong. Those are my candidates

Its just not going to happen + IMO Fulmer has been away too long to even be considered. I would have liked to see him coach 2010+ but he retired himself. VFL though.

just a chavis note...watched bama/lsu last night...lsu did great on defense..great schemes, play, etc..UNTIL bama's last drive w/ time ticking away where I saw the old Chavis come out again for ol LSU...basically, beat a team the entire game by playing your defense a certain way, but then suddenly change on the last minute drives...Result: 3rd and chavis= TD Alabama, LSU loss...Chavis is a fantastic DC, just never understood why he 'changes' everything that has been working so well at the 'panic' moments...just keep doing what you have been doing and what you stopped them w/ multiple times

I would love to have Chavis back but not Fulmer. I have great respect for Fulmer though, as he will probably go down as the best Vol coach of my life time. I would however like to have a time machine and see if be could right the ship in 09

How many of us seen that drive coming? The field goal was the right move but I thought they would have went for it on 4th down. Get the first down they could have killed all the clock and wouldn't needed to score
