Golden is better then Jimbo is. I feared it was true. He is going to hoist a crystal ball there. -fsufsu

Hate him? I freaking love the guy.. He is the sole reason our program still has a pulse.

If he leaves, I'm done with CFB. pukeface

Difference between Golden and Dooley is Miami LOVES him. Golden has them on the right track, Dooley had us heading to the basement...

Miami has a pretty darn good team returning next year. Duke Johnsons a stud.

  • Miami can keep Al Golden.

  • I'm don't think you're Brick. You either work for the Public News team or you work with Mantooth. Which one is it?

20 out of 22 starters returning w/ Duke taking one spot & Tracy Howard taking the other.

I think Dooley is a great guy btw... Just not Tennessee caliber IMO.

You need to explain to this board how horrible a situation Golden stepped into. I've watched your games, your interior front on defense is jellow.

He has stated multiple times in recent weeks he is happy in Miami... says his wife is happy. He says the future is bright & he wants to see this through to the end. We shall see.

FWIW, I won't blame him one bit for bailing but he seems like a man of his word.

Well, 37 out of 44 on our 2 deep roster this year were Fr/So. We lost over 30 + players to graduation & the draft last year. We played 21 freshman, starting 10 true freshman at some point during the season. When he arrived at Miami in January '10, there wasn't one single visit set up. Shannon had burnt so many bridges with HS coaches in SoFla that Golden had to beg just to get into the door. He had less than a month to salvage a class in which he ended up doing a pretty dang good job. This past years class was exceptional all things considered.. (yahoo scandal came out) Our weight room numbers have basically doubled. He has a plan for everything. He has revived our program in one of our darkest periods despite awful facilities, no stadium, looming sanctions, THREE AD's in less than two years, a troll of a president who refuses to help out our football program, worst fanbase in CFB, etc..

I'd be heart broken but if he decided to leave, I promise your fanbase would love the hire.

I was really hoping it wasn't Al Golden. The "U" can keep him. My cousin was recruited by him when he was at Temple and had a lot of great things to say about him, but I didn't want him at UT. Doesn't fit. FWIW, Miami/Notre Dame is one of my all-time favorite rivalries.

He is a man who bleeds passion for the game and his players. How many coaches rush to their player's side when they are seriously injured? Golden came out very quickly when M. Lewis broke his ankle against Ga. Tech. Spurrier seemed to not really care so much when Lattimore destroyed his knee. Golden has Miami heading back to the top. I hope you guys make it back as well. Miami/Notre Dame was classic. So was Miami/Nebraska. Good Luck guys.

This sounds like it would be a Cuonzo type hire for us. At first people would hate it. I hated the Cuonzo hire at first, but I can honestly tell you now that I don't miss Bruce Pearl one bit. I think I would have the same type of feeling about hiring Al Golden.
