Just rode the elevator with Vonn Bell

We are staying at the downtown Hilton and heading down for breakfast when the elevator stopped and Vonn Bell and two other recruits got on. The were laughing and making small talk so we didn't say anything. The elevator opened and Coach Az, Thig and Strip were standing in the lobby with several others and rushed to greet them. Not the most compelling story but exciting for me.

Could you tell who the others were? Carr? Dobbs?
I guess his brother is with him so it could have been his brother.

One of the others looked like a lineman was definitely a recruit because he was wearing the same credentials as Bell. I didn't get a good look at the third guy and couldn't tell if he was wearing credentials or not. I'll say this, Coach Strip looks like a guy you wouldn't want to mess with.
And we had the buffet at breakfast. Really good omelet but the bacon is kind of greasy.
Seeing my first ever game at the Tommy Bowl later today and I'm fired up.

The last recruiting visit I saw was Tobias Harris and family at dinner with Pearl at Calhoun's, and that one turned out OK. Not so much for Peral but good for Tennessee and Tobias.
I'm pretty sure that was when Harris told Pearl he was committing because at one point Pearl got up from the table and walked to the other table where his wife (girlfriend?) was sitting and excitedly said, "Honey, I just won the national championship". When she asked why he whispered in her ear and she got excited and started clapping her hands.

Funny . . . I always assumed recruits stayed in the athletic dorms on official visits so they could a small sample of life on campus . . thought parents stayed in the hotel.

And apparently the Bama basketball team is staying here because a couple of them just walked in and are shaking hands with a couple of well dressed Bama fans.

I usually go to 3-4 games a year at the Tommy Bowl. You'll love it. One good thing Hamilton did.was upgrading it, very nice facility now.

How's Tobias doing in the NBA? Haven't heard his name any since he left. Kind of had that tweener body type so I was always worried how he would transition.
