Just saw the Lattimore play...

My first thought was Joe Theismann - it looked that bad. The only other play I remember looking as bad was when either Charlie Garner or James "Little Man" Stewart broke his leg and it was doubled over...

Pretty sure you're thinking of Aaron Hayden. We had some great backs in the day.

I remember seeing the play and seeing the leg doubled over - but for the life of me I can't remember specifically who it was. It could have been Hayden though...

McGahee was also nasty. Worst was Monday Night Football and Napoleon McCollum...Raiders and Niners. Ken Norton Jr wouldn't even get up until the guy was moved off him. Grotesque.

Lattimore play definitely reminded me of McGahee. Hopefully he can come back and have a similar pro career to McGahee

Don't think so but he blew out every ligament in his knee. I was referring in terms of severity. It took McGahee a couple years to fully recover from that.

I would be surprised if he didn't fumble. At that point, holding onto the ball is the last thing on a players mind.

wes!!! ya he did fumble he never touched the ground feel terrible for the guy because his career is prolly over seeings that its the opposite knee of the acl from last year

Looked to me like he dislocated his knee (and tore every ligament in it). Will be interesting to see what the actual injury is.
Just hate it for the kid.

I was at the game. It was horrific. I felt so bad for him and his family. I prayed for him and his mom(who was in tears)right there. It was also a pretty amazing moment when both benches emptied and Tennessee and USC players surrounded Lattimore before he was put on the stretcher and taken to the hospital. The stadium was silent. It took me a while to get back into the game. However, our guys and thiers played through the shock of the moment. It was unforgettable. I could have watched live, Lattimore's last game ever. really looked bad on ESPN. I slow motioned it and as a X-Ray technologist its one of the worst i have ever seen.

That's what I thought. I wasn't sure he broke it as much as dislocated it and tore the patella tendon along with ligaments. Looked career ending though

Let's hope not. He could have been a great one. Was a beast when healthy. Keep this kid and his family in our thoughts.

Word is Lattimore tore all 4 ligaments, broke femur, tore the patella and ruptured tendons. Career ending if true. I would think that requires a knee replacement.

It is horrible. Saw the same thing on twitter. Waiting on official word from SC. Could be the worst non paralyzing injury that I have ever seen

That one replay where the trainer grabed the leg and it looked like he turned it back into place was just painful to watch. Wow if he even walks again it will be a unbelievable. thoughts and prayers.

That sounds like more than just a knee replacement is needed. That's a replacement plus full reconstruction if true.

Marcus is a class act. He's the one non-UT player in the SEC I really enjoyed watching play. It was just a freak and unfortunate injury.
