Justin Wilcox....

  • He got abused last season for having the 27th ranked defense in the nation at Tennessee. What are we now? 112th? Vols need Tommy Tuberville, like the Mississippi Riverboat Gambler needs the SEC!!!! TUBSUTK13#

  • Wilcox knew exactly what kind of players he had and adapted, like good coaches do, while sunseri insists on implementing his system come hell or high water, personnel be damned. Oddly, I am not necessarily opposed to that, because it may be better in the long run, but there will be growing pains (as we expected, though I never dreamed they would be THIS bad)

  • Is he looking for a head coach position? Not flaming but I would put him on a list if I was hiring.

  • I am as disappointed as anyone else and still wanna kill Devrin Young for the fumble, but lets take a step off the ledge. There are 6 games left in the season. Lets just wait and see how this thing plays out before we start making any rash decisions like trying to figure out who the next coach is, because even some of these so called candidates could implode to finish their seasons and we could still surge. Likely as it may be and it is very possible we get blown out the next weeks, but just remember how fast things can change. Just two weeks ago everyone was so proud and convinced about this team after we almost took down Georgia, and now the mood has flipped the other way. What happens if we win one out of these next two games, or both, or lose both but look very impressive and then close out the last 4 and get a decent bowl game....and what if we win that bowl game and go 8-5? Still a lot of season left and we really did not look that bad in the loss. The defense was awful in the first half and at times in the 2nd half, but we had taken control of the game until Devrin Young fumbled. Just my two cents sorry for the long one.

  • That fumblie was not the only reason for the loss.

    1. pooch kick that was not covered and then the player Mike R. did not want to hear anything from the s.t. coach
    2. missed tackle on 3 and 9 on the last drive on the option play that would have got us the ball back
    3. the entire first half on D I mean that first drive 29 yards. 19 yards, 11 yards. MSU getting over 200 yards in O in the first half?
    4. Missed FG would have put us at a tie and could have tightened them up but never know

Those items still sting in my mind and I agree the D was not good in the 1st half. this team needs to learn how to win and how to survive. I also noticed at different times how they just don't seem to listen to anyone--Bray a couple times was trying to huddle on the sidelines and the line and skill guys just walked away, Coaches on the sideline trying to talk to players and they just back talked and walked away WTH is that about and what is going on??? We should still be 0 for October, and if for some reason we can beat MU (yes that is a much tougher game now than ever with the jeckle and hyde D we have) and their ability to put up points in a hurry and if they feel they can compete they will get their first win vs SEC and it will be against UT. Vandy and KY should be wins as well as Troy getting us to 6 and 6 with outside shot at 7-5.
also sorry for the long wind but this was a rought w/e.
