Kudos to Trae Golden

  • I love how far this kid came with his game this year. Learning to play PG is not easy at all. Yes - he had some bad moments. But you can see the potential there. The kid is tough as nails and I love how he drives the lane. I also love the fact that he said he will work on his defense this off-season. You could tell his pride was wounded by being schooled by Massey last night and others this year.

    You can tell these kids love their coach and want to work their butts off for him. I expect Golden and Stokes to be monster workers this off-season and make major strides next year. The future is bright for sure!

    I hope your right. But I can't help but get down the way they don't hustle. I can't stand a quitter. If they get in there this off season and work at it, I believe you will see a big turn around next year

  • I like Golden too. I do think this team will get better. I hope that we can start getting better recruits like Stokes so we can challenge Kentucky and bid for a title.

  • i'm glad to read some positive opinions on golden. he worked hard last offseason to improve his body & his game & he'll do the same this year. i've already read where he acknowledges his need to improve defensively, especially on ball screens. coach martin said golden wants to be a good player, & i believe it. he played pretty darn well this year considering he didn't play point guard in high school, & didn't get significant minutes last year. i think he's going to be a really good player for us.

    If you give a young man a scholarship I believe that he needs to give 100%. Look how they played against Ky. up here and I know Ky is better than MTSU. Look at when they Played Memphis they didn't even have Stokes. I don't mean to be negative but I love to see them hustle. They can play with anybody when they want to. You watch the replay and you'll see some of the big guys get down when they wasn't getting the ball. They're were told to go inside and didn't. Everybody I talked to said we don't know which team is going to show up.
