He dont need to play the whole game, but he needs to play the first half or until starters are pulled. He's missed a lot of action last season and needs to knock of his rust going into the Florida game. That is if he can go this week

love his getting to play some but worry a little about his injuries ; we have to keep this kid on the field in order to compete with the Ga , SC and Fl's

He needs to play atleast a few series this week. Just because he's the oldest one doesn't mean he's mastered the new defense

Good news! Herman can be a beast, but Dooley's right- the great players learn to master their pain. Rub some dirt on it and get back in the game, big guy.

I agree with him needing to play. As I said in another thread, he made several mistakes in the first half friday and I would assume this is the rust Dooley was refering to. He is a great player but even the greatest players need playing time to stay sharp. As far as the players behind him needing to step up as leaders, our defense played better in the second half so I think Lathers needs the reps. Not trying to undersale his importance to this team at all but he needs the reps to be the player we know he is and should be.

Give him the first half to get used to making the calls, but pull the pads off at halftime. Don't give him a chance to play the 2nd half
