Damn we need CB's. We got like freaking 8 safetys on the roster and only 3 of them can even play... Appreciate the info though, looks like a good player.

  • Looks better on offense. Looks like a work in progress on defense though.

If we only have 3 players that can effectively play the position it indicates that we have a lot of depth and no talent. IMO, it is easier to add talent than to coach up players who lack the necessary intangibles. Johnson would be a good pick up...

Just out of curiousity, wodering what the importance of EE's are over standard NSD recruits?

Do they get more training time?

Count on some type of list I'm not aware of?

DO EE's tend to outperform NSD's over a period of time?

Tend to make us feel better before NSD to know we already have some presents under the tree, so to speak?

    Appreciate the response, in advance!

    GO VOLS!

    A few things...

    1. I think you can backcount them. Not 100% positive on that though.

    2. They get a full spring practice

    3. They are more likely to contriubte in fall because of playbook knowledge

Besides that not to much. The backcount thing is important though. Just am not 100% positive on the rules.

    hdrizzle21

  • Yeah, you can backcount some of them if you have scholarships remaining from the year before IIRC.

The other thing imo is it let's you focus on signing other kids and not hanging on to the 'commits' you have.

    GO VOLS!

The EE's get to go through spring practice and also get to get acclimated to campus life. Where as a regular recruit comes in during the summer and has everything pretty much thrown at them at once. Recruits tend to have a better chance of playing next season, due to having more time to learn playbook and practice routines.

As far as back counting you can only sign 25 in a given year, so if we signed 23 last year we can have 27 this year if we have room in the 85 total scholarship limit. This is very confusing.

    I hope this helps.

  • Any day you can get a player at a position of need from Auburn/LSU, is a good day. I hope this happens!
