Do not post often, but just asking that what if we did keep DD and release the coaches on defense and find an outstanding coach for that side of the ball. Everyone seems to blame DD but I think maybe Hart was the big say so in the hiring of the DC. What about our offense? Should DD get credit for one of the best offense in the SEC. I am not crazy and do not and cannot agree with the decision on the last few seconds of the game Sat. I feel that if we cannot get a homerun coach that we may just keep DD and hire a new staff on defense. I would hate to see our line coach and backs coach leave our team.

I agree with you we have 1 of the best Offenses in the Sec and like DD said last week he has spent most of his time with the Offense. I say fire sal and bring in a new DC i still think DD is a good coach he just needs the right assistents.

Al.Wilson doesn't have a college degree, which means he cannot coach college football.

i can honestly say i didn't know that was a requirement. thanks for imparting some knowledge on me!

  • You are wanting to keep the coach who continues to pass the blame on to others. He blamed Bray for screwing up the end of regulation plays and blamed Bray for doing the pooch punt.

  • Ok, I know this is like spitting into the wind, but I will try it any way.

Ryan & Wes, please do not be offended. I know you have a job to do. This is not directed at you specifically, but everyone (all media and intrusive gossiping fans that for some reason feel entitled to know the behind the scene discussions inside the administration offices).

The only reason anyone keeps fishing and poking on the topic of Coach Dooley’s job status, either by trying to ask him or Hart directly or by trying to get to a "reliable" source on the inside, is so they can be the first to break the story. The man will be replaced. It is obvious. It is a given. Quit asking and let's all just wait and allow the official word to come from the administration when they are in a position to announce formally.

There are so many moving parts here that have to be weighed carefully (attorneys agreeing on the language of the separation, the desire to have a successor identified and ready to be announced if possible, the kids needing to stay focused to somehow try to win 2 more games to get bowl eligible, the impact to the recruiting process, etc...). We as fans living in this sitcom world where everything has to be settled immediately for our own self serving wants just need to relax and let the situation unfold in due time. The drama being injected into this situation is ridiculous and unhealthy for the program and the great tradition that is the University of Tennessee.

I will repeat what I have borrowed and said many times before....Let the players play, let the coaches coach, let the administration administrate and we as fans need to cheer them in the victories and encourage them in their defeats....and in this instance we need to sit down and shut up and quit gossiping about something that will be resolved and announced at the appropriate time….

Go Vols! Beat Vandy!....I'll hang up and listen to your comments...

  • One possible scenario is that the attorneys are talking which could give Dooley and Hart deniability. Hart may have said to Dooley, I am going to explore my options. Have your attorney contact mine and based on what my attorney says I will act in the best interests of UT. He has not told Dooley he is not coming back and also leaves himself room to maneuver and also to give the players a chance to play this out. I don't think it is a given that 'the source' in the AD's office nor Dooley are lying. There are probably a half dozen scenarios that could explain this situation.

  • If Hart decides to show Dooley the door I would think he would be making some calls to see who is interested in the position and who will fit in to what he wants in the program.

I think there will be a lot more smoke going before we really know what Dooley's future is with UT. Hart doesn't appear to me to be someone who just rushes into making a decision like replacing his head football coach.
