Lol, TOS is blowing up at Hubbs....

  • Hubbs totally backtracking like he never said anything about tenn and Jon gruden. Said he never said gruden spoke to assts about the Tennessee job, which is total BS. He said gruden had spoke to assts about tenn and other jobs. Now he's also saying he never said manning and gruden spoke about tenn, Although his war room quote was "manning and gruden have spoken and it was "more than just about Spider 3 Y Bannana".

I've never thought too highly of Hubbs, but I've never seen him backtrack and flat out lie like this. Sorry excuse for reporting. VQ is blowing up.

  • Yeah it is pretty interesting over there right now seems like Hubbs and Hyams both in the Gruden deal is over. With UT luck that is probablly the case. on to the next guys.

  • I've been saying all along that no one has any idea what Hart is doing outside his office. I stand by that.

  • Hubbs is sticking to Golden being near the top of Harts list. If that's true, f' Tennessee football, I'm an nfl fan. Don't try to sell me on a guy who went 6-6 last year, then just had a 52-45 thriller against Duke to go 7-5 this year. He went 9-4 and 8-4 the two years before that at temple.

If tenn hires al golden I swear to god I will not watch a single game. If that's all tenn can do, shame on me for cheering for such a censored program.

  • Kind Of unfair to Hubbs. He is a real professional and doesn't post stuff just to be posting stuff. His info is usually pretty good. While he has talked about Gruden talking to assistants about a staff in college, he has always maintained this was a long shot. Hubbs is the reason I've thought from day 1 that Gruden is a pipe dream. In my opinion, Hubbs has the most sources connected with the university and has been there a while. People being idiots over there is why I am here now. I appreciate the way you all interact with each other and the writers of the staff interact with all of us. As for how credible 247 is with their sources, I will know more after this search. So far I've enjoyed reading their stuff.

That would not be good in my opinion. If we can't get Gruden/Stoops or maybe Strong, I would be in favor of giving Coach Fulmer another shot over someone like Golden, Mora, Fedora, etc.

Fulmer with Chaney/OC, Chavis/DC, Graham/RB, Martin/WR and OC in waiting, bring back Thompson as LB and DC in waiting, Pittman/OL and Hinshaw/QB . . . at least we could recruit like heck and the fussing would be within the "family".

Maybe I am getting too old, but I don't like this mercenary bs!

The difference between Golden and Dooley which a lot of people like to draw comparisons to is Miami Fans LOVE Al Golden. They think he is getting them back on track and so does people in the media...

There is a reason Golden is sought after.

Are you going to have the "What we've heard today Saturday Nov. 24th" segment? Also what do you think the time frame is on UT waiting on the all mighty Gruden to make a decision? I would love to have Chucky but i think its a pipe dream and don't want to miss out on the other great coaches out there that might be talking to other schools. If UT spends to much time chasing Gruden they will be behind with everyone else IMO.

  • The information that Hubbs is putting out there is that some 3rd parties reached out to Gruden possibly as far back as October but Hart isn't inclined to go that direction any longer and isn't really talking with him. If this is true, then Hart isnt spinning his wheels. He is on it.

  • I was one of the ones voicing frustrations but it was totally with the way Hubbs refuses to answer questions or give his opinion on anything.

I understand not wanting to spread rumor but if you are saying there is basically zero chance that Gruden comes to Tennessee then at least share why you feel that way. It is pretty ridiculous that it is a PAID site but he refuses to do that and his war rooms are pretty pointless. they need to take the sentence off about what is said in the war room stays in the war room because nothing is ever said in there worthwhile anyway.

Roman is quickly becoming one of my favorite candidates.

  • I'm not as down on the war room as you are but understand what you are saying. I will admit this weeks war room was rather weak. Truth be told, all sites are in speculation mode because this is a one man show as far as the search goes. I don't think we will know a whole lot until things actually break.

Yes, Hubbs said he originally thought tenn would make gruden say no. Now he is saying tenn never even got that far. Apparently due to hart not wantin to pursue.

I find that hard to believe, but we'll all find out soon enough.

That's a good point. Do you think he'd pick Cal over us, or do you think since he's probably first on Cal's list, it won't get to that point where he has to pick between the two?

Good point 'Drizz. I remember most fans hated the Kiffin hire at the beginning and then loved him and then hated him again. The point is the negative fan reaction at the beginning seldom matches the fan reaction when the season starts. If Golden were named I expect a great big YAWN at best and a very negative response at worst. But let him land Toby Johnson, Von Bell and turn Ramsey and the love fest is on. I'm not saying that he could or would do those things but I am pointing out the fickle nature of fans...me included.
