  • Are we now in a bidding war with Louisville? If so, I think we win....

We don't have more money. We do have better fans, facilities, etc. We only win if Strong decides he'd rather coach at Tennessee in the long term than at some other SEC school. If he doesn't leave Louisville now, it's because he doesn't want to be the guy that left the school that gave him his first head coaching gig 3 years after arriving, and because he also believes that, 3 or 4 more years down the road, there's a shot at getting the Florida job.

Ultimately, he wants to coach in the SEC. It's just a question of where and when.

Louisville has deep pockets...deeper than most people realize. They will do everything to keep Strong just short of naming him mayor of Lousiville

    Good luck with your search...

THIS IS NOT A BIDDING WAR. You said it yourself, we would win if that was the case.

This is Charlie Strong, making a decision based on the circumstances of both programs. That is all.

  • Nope. After joining the ACC, Louisville might just become one of the 10 most profitable athletic departments in the country. At this point, we probably cannot compete dollar for dollar.
