  • CrockettTM are you a doctor? If so what is your area of expertise? Or are you a PT or something else? I'm just curious because I want to know how valid your points are.

Give that guy a cortisone shot!

I'm guessing he'll pop a Toradol or two on Saturday afternoon.

I was going off what Ryan said in a thread on this board.

    Jump off a bridge, please.

No reason to get personal. I have an issue with the validity of your comments.

    - You have no idea how bad or what Maggit's injury is.
    - To claim that every player who has turf toe is treated and healed the same, is preposterous.
    - Equally as preposterous is claiming that nobody has played 100% on turf toe.
    - It is 100% wrong to say there are not variations of degree to turf toe. Anything from a mild sprain to torn cartiledge of the MTP is considered 'turf toe', so YES, there are huge variations in severity.

You want to be contrarian, great. Just don't tell me to jump off a bridge for calling you out on it.

  • Whoa. Guys, it is Florida week. Point the guns down range at the enemy.

Curt is going to do a couple of lines and drink two beers. This will be fine.

If it is not, then someone else will step up. Hopefully they will not have had a couple of lines and beers.

let's rip the soul out of them. GO VOLS.

I've seen Maggitt walking around, and he's not walking too gingerly or wincing, and he's doing some stuff on the side in practice. I don't think it's a severe case. But I'm the expert here, obviously.

THIS is all I read..........Wes cleared him to dominate FL vols

I just want to make most of you aware that if Maggitt really has a case of turf toe (like Dooley said) and he really sat out most of the week of practice this week, it is very unlikely he'll play against Florida. And if he does play, he'd be very limited and likely to re-injure it.

This seems to be overlooked a bit at this point by the fan base. Turf toe is one of the worst injuries for a football player to have.

It's a very debilitating injury, true. Luke Stocker had the same problem in 2009 whether you knew it or not, and it bothered him all season. Yet, he played through it. Just depends on how bad Maggitt's is. We'll wait and see.

    Bingo.

According to the sports medicine conf I attended last feb., which had members of the UT training staff as speakers, there are 3 grades of "turf toe".

So, like many people on here that have no medical training, just common sense have said, we'll just have to wait and see.

  • If it was me, you would have to drag me off the field for this game. There would be no way you could keep me from playing. Injured or not. I would be willing to bet he prolly feels the same, but I could be wrong. #beatthebrakesoffthegators biggrin

Yes. CrockettTM knows everything about it. Based on much of what I read from him he is either an expert or knows an expert about anything you care to ask him. I think he is currently living at a Holiday Inn Express.biggrin
