Interesting development, the Panthers just signed Mike Tolbert and are probably looking to deal either Dangelo Williams or Jonathan Stewart. I think Fox would take either in Denver.

I just do not get this move. Of all of his contenders Denver to me has the least bit of talent to work with. They have 2 broke down running backs, one receiver who is always hurt, a pretty decent defense and thats about it. There going to spend most of there cap room on Manning but who the hell is he going to throw too? He has always made other people better but he has also always had a really good WR and TE to throw too as well.

Agree - this selection just puzzles me. San Francisco and Kansas City offered better opportunities to go to the Super Bowl quicker than Denver. Peyton has no weapons in Denver. It has to be about the money and nothing else.

No, I don't think so. I think it was in another thread, but the Peter King tweets that wataugavol posted earlier told the story. I think Peyton might have been a bit turned off by the potential of everything turning into a circus in Tennessee and perhaps being in a Super Bowl-or-bust situation in San Francisco.
If that's the case, Denver makes perfect sense. It's a great football town with a great fan base, but it's a place where he won't be viewed as a disappointment if the Broncos don't win a Super Bowl in the next year or two.

This is crazy. DeMaryius Thomas is a monster and Eric Decker is a very good #2 WR. They need a TE and running back was fine until Knowshon tore his ACL.
I assume they'll try and sign D. Clark for TE, maybe trade for one of the RB in Carolina, and then draft a WR in the 2nd or 3rd round. Peyton worked with less in Indy the last couple years. He MADE Pierre Garcon and Austin Collie.

what's Manning going to do tell his agent give me this or I'll go home.
He's going to be just like Eway. it's my way or no other way. I'm glad he left Indy. my colts are better off. Manning really surprised me. I hope Elway and the donkeys don't win a game.SRDC Vol

DeMaryius Thomas finished #59 in the NFL among WR's yardage. Not sure how you can call that being a monster. And before you say being #59 is because of Tebow, Thomas finished #97 in 2010. Decker was marginally better than Thomas. Now compare that with Dewayne Bowe who finished #13 in WR yards and Steve Breaston who finished #43 in yards. And this despite injuries to the starting QB and one of the leagues top RB's in Jamaal Charles. Heck, even Dexter McCluster only had about 200 less receiving yards than Thomas and McCluster is not even an every down RB. Add TE Moeaki who, when healthy in 2010 had over 500 yards. The Chiefs also just signed TE Boss.
Hands down - Chiefs have so many more offensive weapons than the Broncos. They just did not offer as much money as Denver did.

DeMaryius Thomas played in 11 games in 2011. And almost all of them were with a QB who completed 46% of his passes (Tebow). He missed the first 5 games...that's 1/3 of the season. And even with BOTH those limitations, finished 59th? That's pretty damn good.
The Broncos also have THE MOST cap space in the NFL left to add whatever "weapons" they want. Plus, they have a full allotment of draft picks.
I'd also like to know, if the Chiefs offense was this good, how did they finish below the Broncos in total offensive yardarge, rushing yardage, and points per game? Interesting.
Peyton never even interviewed with the Chiefs...it wasn't about money. The Chiefs showed zero interest.
