Manning a Bronco!!

  • I just do not get this move. Of all of his contenders Denver to me has the least bit of talent to work with. They have 2 broke down running backs, one receiver who is always hurt, a pretty decent defense and thats about it. There going to spend most of there cap room on Manning but who the hell is he going to throw too? He has always made other people better but he has also always had a really good WR and TE to throw too as well.

I live in Denver, and all I can say is:

    NO MORE TEBOW!

For those of you who haven't lived here, this is just a wonderful turn of events. His congregation can go somewhere else to watch an NFL quarterback throw like a girl.

Schlereth (sic) said,"I asked when he first saw him throw, was he truly left handed?" I laughed my head off at that. Shows you how good of a coach and teacher Meyer is. Tebow had to hire somebody to teach him how to throw after college. Sad.

  • hate that he decided to go somewhere else as i would have loved to have gotten to watch him play locally , wish him good fortune but hate that he chose Denver

  • The one team I will not root for REGARDLESS of who's coaching or playing for them is Denver. So as much as I like Manning, I won't be rooting for him or anyone else in a Broncos uniform.

  • Interesting development, the Panthers just signed Mike Tolbert and are probably looking to deal either Dangelo Williams or Jonathan Stewart. I think Fox would take either in Denver.

Yeah, I saw that. Nice signing by the Panthers. I really like Tolbert. And you're right, I'm sure Fox would take either of those guys — especially Stewart, if you ask me — in Denver.

Agree - this selection just puzzles me. San Francisco and Kansas City offered better opportunities to go to the Super Bowl quicker than Denver. Peyton has no weapons in Denver. It has to be about the money and nothing else.

No, I don't think so. I think it was in another thread, but the Peter King tweets that wataugavol posted earlier told the story. I think Peyton might have been a bit turned off by the potential of everything turning into a circus in Tennessee and perhaps being in a Super Bowl-or-bust situation in San Francisco.

If that's the case, Denver makes perfect sense. It's a great football town with a great fan base, but it's a place where he won't be viewed as a disappointment if the Broncos don't win a Super Bowl in the next year or two.

  • Ok so after doing some research it seems that Denver is about to try and get pieces of the band back together and maybe this is why Denver fit becuase it had openings at positions that they could sign to make Manning more comfortable. Dallas Clark , Jeff Saturday , and Joseph Addai all are free agents and all positions that Denver could stand to sign. Although I do not really think Joseph Addai is that great he has played with Manning before but I would much rather have Williams or Stewart from Carolina. Also the Dallas Clark move seems almost a perfect situation and so does adding a pro bowl center.

This is crazy. DeMaryius Thomas is a monster and Eric Decker is a very good #2 WR. They need a TE and running back was fine until Knowshon tore his ACL.

I assume they'll try and sign D. Clark for TE, maybe trade for one of the RB in Carolina, and then draft a WR in the 2nd or 3rd round. Peyton worked with less in Indy the last couple years. He MADE Pierre Garcon and Austin Collie.

  • If I am the Broncos I would gladly give up a 1st round pick for the Steelers Mike Wallace

Did they (Denver) play in AFC championship last year? Who was the QB?
He might throw like a girl but he's a winner. Manning came out of the SEC also and how many SEC championships did he win? None. How many did Tibow win? Plus the Heisman.

    coltsman

  • No, Denver did NOT play in the AFC Championship last year. So your point is moot.

His team went 8-8 last year...and if not for 3-4 "I've never seen that before in my life" plays, the Broncos go 5-11.

    Stop dreaming.

Wallace and D Thomas are basically them same reciever, don't see the Broncos going there. I could see Brandon Stokely (who I'm sure would come back) as a Austin Collie type reciever.

Plus, the Broncos could get a very good WR in the first or second round.

I follow the AFC West very closely. I can promise you that Elway and the fans are thinking SB or bust with Peyton. Go to any Bronco message board and you will see.

Manning won one SEC championship; he's also won a Super Bowl title and multiple MVP awards (and I doubt that Tebow's NFL career will last long enough for him to realize that achievement). I won't even go into how Manning was robbed of the Heisman trophy.

DeMaryius Thomas finished #59 in the NFL among WR's yardage. Not sure how you can call that being a monster. And before you say being #59 is because of Tebow, Thomas finished #97 in 2010. Decker was marginally better than Thomas. Now compare that with Dewayne Bowe who finished #13 in WR yards and Steve Breaston who finished #43 in yards. And this despite injuries to the starting QB and one of the leagues top RB's in Jamaal Charles. Heck, even Dexter McCluster only had about 200 less receiving yards than Thomas and McCluster is not even an every down RB. Add TE Moeaki who, when healthy in 2010 had over 500 yards. The Chiefs also just signed TE Boss.

Hands down - Chiefs have so many more offensive weapons than the Broncos. They just did not offer as much money as Denver did.

what's Manning going to do tell his agent give me this or I'll go home.
He's going to be just like Eway. it's my way or no other way. I'm glad he left Indy. my colts are better off. Manning really surprised me. I hope Elway and the donkeys don't win a game.

I saw how much better they were in this year's record. Luck is the next Matt Ryan. Good luck.

You see what Harbaugh did to Alex Smith last year. Luck had Harbaugh for what - 3 or 4 years?

Luck is the real deal. The Colts decision was a no-brainer.

DeMaryius Thomas played in 11 games in 2011. And almost all of them were with a QB who completed 46% of his passes (Tebow). He missed the first 5 games...that's 1/3 of the season. And even with BOTH those limitations, finished 59th? That's pretty damn good.

The Broncos also have THE MOST cap space in the NFL left to add whatever "weapons" they want. Plus, they have a full allotment of draft picks.

I'd also like to know, if the Chiefs offense was this good, how did they finish below the Broncos in total offensive yardarge, rushing yardage, and points per game? Interesting.

Peyton never even interviewed with the Chiefs...it wasn't about money. The Chiefs showed zero interest.

Jamaal Charles, who finished second in rushing in the NFL in 2010 was lost for the season in 2011 due to injury. Toney Moeaki, a top 15 TE in 2010 and a primary Chiefs offensive weapon was also lost for the 2011 season due to injury. In addition, the Chiefs lost their starting QB half way through the 2011 season. So its easy to see why the Broncos finished better than the Chiefs on offense. The Chiefs also lost Eric Berry for the season. And despite all those injuries, the Chiefs were still just a blocked FG away from winning the AFC West.

And I get that the Broncos have a lot of cap room. But how much of that will be eaten up by Manning. No way there is enough cap space to sign Manning and "whatever weapons they want."
