Better defense (kinda)! Tight ends with funny names! Linebackers with funnier names! Johnny Yaw-Yaw Footbaw! Tommy Troubleville! All that and more is in this week's The MSR!

  • The MSR appears to be over-reacting to the Tuberville "slap" incident. There was was no slap. Tuberville yanked the guys head set off and had it in his hand. The guys head never moved or jerked or anything else, meaning Tuberville technically did not make physical contact with him.

On a brighter note, I am already getting excited to see the special addition MSRs updating us about the impending coaching search. Woo-hoo!!!

The existence of a “Big East West Division” or the inclusion of Temple — ya know, the Temple in Philadelphia — in the “Big East West Division.” We think those decisions belong in the “Big Stupid Smart Pile.”

A bit like Missouri being in the Southeastern Conference's East Division?

  • Stefanos....oh man, did you really have to say that. It's lunch and I'm so far away from there right now.

  • uuggh..dont want to think about not having McCullers next year. Light bulb is starting to come on for the big guy. Next year he could be John Henderson..or better. Love the way he plays. but i suppose you are right. no guarantee that he, or any of the high profile juniors are coming back next year. For just a moment though, I'd like to sit back and daydream about what next years team would be like if everyone stuck around..

  • So do Jr's get some kind of feedback from the NFL on where they're likely to be drafted before they declare? We've got some really talented players, but it seems like there's be enough talented Sr's (and Jr's) from other college teams to surprise me to lose a large number of Jr's in one year -- despite the fact I know some of those Jr's played as true Fr and will have 3 years' experience.

How many of them would move up one or more rounds of the NFL draft by staying another year? (Yeah, I know, they risk being injured next year and falling, too.) Seems to me like some could benefit from staying. Shuler went pro after his Jr year and didn't do well with the Redskins; Manning stayed his Sr year and the rest has been history. At least for a QB, another year of maturing can influence their degree of success in the pro's.
