  • Must see TV. Great job Wes. Hope you get to feeling better soon. Funny you should be feeling bad not too long after the Great Toothbrush Debate. By any chance are your dog's teeth looking whiter lately?+1

  • My favorite line was, "We also get that ginormous mammals on defense can’t play every snap."

You have a thing against cooling devices. Auto air conditioning. Automatic ice makers. What's next? No ceiling fans?

  • I'm still too old to know what "just sayin'" means, but this is clever and funny, not to mention very relevant to Vol fandom concerns. Does that qualify as "just sayin'"?

  • I think Bray was still sicker than people realize. It's not the kind of thing any college player wants to tell media as an excuse for mistakes in a game. Nobody wants to be called a cry-baby, or be perceived as not tough, or be seen to be making excuses.

But imagine when you are just getting over a cold, how weak you are. Then you go out and play quarterback in a college football game. (I get exhausted after a walk around the block at times like that.) He really may have been getting weak and foggy-headed by that point in the game, and still used his instincts and skill to make some great plays down the stretch. That's my theory, anyway.

  • Said a couple of weeks ago i would love too and wouldn't be surprised to see Pig at Tailback, gotta get the ball in his hands IMO.

  • Great read, and I agree about Athens. Saw a young Zac Brown there back in '04. Only thing was the part about R.E.M. being America's greatest rock band. They're good but come on man!

I'll raise you a Pearl Jam, Springsteen and E Street Band (Wrecking Ball, 27 years past prime best album of year IMO), Allman Brothers between 70-75 and, heaven forbid, Journey

  • Knoxpatch officials ought to take a road trip to Athens and take notes. No excuse for Knoxville to let Cumberland look like West Chicago. And I bet the Athens PD doesn't add to the game day atmosphere with a portable warden tower.

"Just sayin' " is a popular way for the young 'uns to try to sound nonchalant and non-aggressive, all the while being a smarta$$ and pointing out that the person they are responding to made a dumb statement (in their opinion).

Example: Where I come from, 2 + 2 still equals 4, not 5. Just sayin'. Or here, to a person advocating black jerseys: Last time I checked, we were the big orange, not the big black. Just sayin'.

Often accompanied by a smilie shrugging his shoulders, again to make the otherwise adversarial, contrarian and smart-aleck remark less threatening (and again, the implication is "I don't understand your dumb remark.").

Also instructive: Though we're both nearly 45, my wife has decided she loves using it--on me. lol It's her equivalent of "Here' s your sign."

    Journey better than R.E.M.???

    No. Way.
