I've read through this a couple times and can see both sides but in my opinion motivation falls on the players. I played high school and junior college sports and never had to have a coach "motivate" me. I have also done my fair share of coaching over the last 30 years. A player should always play hard because that's what a player's job is. A coach prepares the game plan and helps you prepare but you have to go out and put forth the effort and execute the plan. The coach can't "get your mind right" for you. I was never one of these rah rah coaches and I don't think someone standing on the sidelines yelling and screaming and being emotional is always a sign of being a great motivator. JMO

I miss bruce. I miss the smell of the tourney. Hell, I'm miserable without him. I think after all this bruce and UT should get an apartment together.
A Bruce Pearl coached basketball team would have fought to the bitter end no matter what the score or game they were playing in. There is no excuse for giving up or quiting EVER and neither is crying over not making the big dance. I lost a lot of respect for CM the way he handled the whole situation.
