My Potential Recruiting Rule Change...

  • I think there should be a longer time from the last recruiting weekend of official visits to NSD... Instead of it being 3 days from the last official visit weekend, I'd like there to be a full week until NSD. 17 and 18 year old kids are so gullible, much like I was, and what most recently happens is what you remember and what you like. It bit us in the behind with Peters. Maybe if he had a week to think this through instead of 3 days, things may have ended differently. Just a thought, what do you think of the proposition.

  • Agree. Kids are too easily influenced and quick to jump to decisions based on what they most recently experienced. I would go one step further and call for a 1 week dead period (no contact with recruits, family or coaches, and even suspende offers) so the recruits and family can digest everything and talk things out without starting the whole process over at the last minute.Offers could resume after signing day.

    That's definatly a good idea!But I would love to see them do something about recruits changing their "commitment"right before signing day!At least give teams enough time to go elsewhere and have enough time to get somebody else a visit.Maye I'm just a dreamer...

    agreed Great proposition! And for what it's worth, I greatly appreciate what drizz brings to this board. He's not pumpin' rays of sunshine up everyone's behind, but he doesn't flame anyone and he brings solid and healthy debate. I rarely agree with it, but I definitely appreciate it. +1 drizz, don't get frustrated by the other side of the debate and keep bringin' it.
