I'm trying to be optimistic here, but I think the NIT will be good for us in the long run. It offers a better chance to play more games and get those under our belts. Also, it gives them some fuel for next year... They hate being the team that ended the NCAA tourney streak. JMO

NIT is what coach and players make of it. You're right the nation as a whole could care less and JMO it should be incorporated into the NCAA. Cuonzo will use it as a positive and hopefully the Players will buy in

Cuonzo seems baffled that Iona got in this year's NCAA tourney when his Missouri State team (No. 39 RPI) didn't last year.
Also said he's ready to support instant replay review in final 30 seconds or minute of games.

I'm actually surprised at the #1 seed. Figured a 2 or 3 seed because of the early season issues. Guess the NIT board looked more favorably on the team's performance once Stokes arrived on campus. Either way, I'm looking forward to some more basketball!!

The NIT picks its seeds and who gets home games based off of ticket sales..... they are in the business of selling tickets, and thats the main reason all of the games until the final four are at the higher seeds venues.....
the nit would be crazy not to utilize TBA and UT's fan base, ticket sales, and attendance this past season.... #1 seed makes perfect sense....
