I must have missed it..., did we have a Gordon fan post somethin'? What a frustrated guy that must be...

Gordon fan here AWBO. Do you know what a guy holding up 4 fingers with one hand and putting his forefinger and thumb together to make a zero with the other hand is doing? He's showing you how many NASCAR championships Gordon has and how many Jr. has. For the guy who posted 'Gordon sucks, literally' I have a question. If Gordon has had two wives and has two children and junior has none and is only seen with his 'buddies' who is the more likely suc... . Sorry, just thinking out loud. By the way, I go to at least five races a year...both Talladega races, one Bristol, one Atlanta and Daytona. Tired of Daytona so our gang may be headed to either Darlington or Pocono. Might get me and my bride one of those heart shaped tubs if we go to Pocono.roflmao I pray she never sees this post. I am a Gordon fan but I just love good racing and I don't care what their number is. VVVVAAARRROOOMMM!
Edit-I hate Kyle Busch but that little *&^%$ can drive.

lol Dang, I can't believe it! I held you in very high regard, until this... biggrin I'll just put it this way; Junior has done what Teo wished he could do on the dating scene. My dad used to ask me, "Why buy the cow, when the milk is free?" When your a public figure, some things are done for the media, while others are done for personal satisfaction...

I hope you know I'm just playin'..., but it's awful fun!

Soooo, your trying to get a rise out of us guys...hmmm. lol I've been a Gordon fan from the first time I saw him race. Funny thing is everyone hates Gordon because they think he replaced Earnhardt but they were business partners in a couple of ventures and played the competitors thing to the hilt. These guys are pros and only a few are not friends. You can't afford not to be at 200mph. IJS

It is fun. We have 60-80 guys who go to the 'Dega spring race and we have fans of everybody so it gets pretty raw at times but fun it is. In the fall we have about 20 couples who go to 'Dega so we call it tits in the pits and they actually have t-shirts to that affect. Man I am ready for racing. By the way, you better make sure your lady is not watching when you call her a cow.roflmao

Saw gordon win a lot of races when I was young. Easy to start liking a winner. 1995-1999 it was a crazy good stretch. Plus around here you were either a 3 fan or 24 fan. Options were limited. I have a keep sake. Had it since 1994. Post a pic in a moment.

Dad's advice only lasted so long..., I'm sure you're familiar with that!

Man, how do I become part of that trip to 'Dega in the fall? Never been there, but this sounds like our kind of group. I'm ready for racin' too, and ready to hear DW drop the first boggity, boggity, boggity at Daytona. BTW - our first campin' trip to Atlanta was great. We met all kinds of friends, and had a ball. We'll be back there again, and often.

  • Let me say this I abhor fuel mileage races and feel they are killing NASCAR.

When you have drivers slowing down to win races something is wrong.

Very cool! Opening that is kinda like me playing backyard football with the ball that Coach Cafego and Majors signed. I'll never forget the look on my dad's face when he found me and some buddies playing in the yard with that ball.

True on the advise from Dad. I will check with the guys about the fall ticket situation. We are first and second row OV Hill South about 250 yards to the start finish. Same seats spring and fall. When Edwards went in the fence a few years ago he literally passed 15 feet in front of me and my buddies. Got a chain link shower but no injuries. However, the lady that was hurt was about 20 feet to my left. If you google the wreck you can see some of our guys with their hands in the air. If you think you have time to react in those situations you can forget that. Let me know when you are going to be in town for the Atlanta race and we can get together or you and your ladies can come down and the girls can spend time with the horses. If you haven't transferred to McGee-Tyson you will most likely be driving up I85 and will pass withing three miles of the house.

Was that the Edwards/Keslowski scuffle a few years ago? That was a true war of wills there...

I'm headed to McGhee-Tyson very soon (next month), and we have a ton of training laid on for the summer and fall, but it may work out to be a free weekend for Atlanta... I will definitely let ya know as we get closer. If there's any possible way, we'll be back there in the fall cause that was a hoot!

25 minutes the back way from my house to the track and yes it was the Edwards/Keselowski scuffle. I love Edwards but K had the line and CE came down on him. It was an unbelievable sight.

Great race. remember watchin' it, but would've like to had your seats for it. Thanks for offering up the hospitality, my youngest is a horse farm fanatic. She would probably clean the stalls, feed and brush, and whatever else you could think of for her to do around the place. I'll keep ya posted as we get closer, but it's definitely a target on our calendar.

Was at Talledega in 1987 when Bobby Allison took down the catch fence and caused a 2 and a half hour red flag. We were sitting on the front row in OV Hill South also. The wreck started right in front of us and about 100 yards away he went into the fence. Also there in '85 when Bill Elliott came from almost 2 laps down under green to win. You are right about how fast things take place. By the time you got your head turned the train was 100 yards down the track. In addition to Talledega, I've been to Daytona, Atlanta, Charlotte, Rockingham, North Wilkesboro, Martinsville, Bristol and Darlington. Grew up a diehard Petty fan and after his retirement became a huge Sterling Marlin fan. "Unintimidated" Went to Petty's last race at Atlanta, which was Gordon's first race. Anyways used to go to a lot but because disgruntled with NASCAR after they kicked some of the great tracks to the curb in favor of more cookie cutters. Nice memories though. Thanks for invoking them +1

Never was an Earnhardt guy, grew up following DW cause of my mom and when I got old enough I started pulling for Rusty. Ever since the sport lost Dale and went away from Winston I have lost about all interest in it . The only way I think that sport would be interesting to me again is if they only let the chase drivers be in the chase. To me it's pointless and a waste of money for all the other drivers to continue to race and just be in the way

I've long felt they should cut the field to 35...43 goes back to olden days when there was no reliability & a car 3 laps
ahead could blow up. Saw mt first Nascar race as a kid 62 Daytona 500, Fireball Roberts won.
