New all-time low for Memphis State football

It's funny without Memphis Tennessee would be financially on the same level as Mississippi and Alabama. I'm always amazed as to how you guys hate Memphis until it comes time to recruit Memphians. Be careful not to let your racism show too much.

Ironically, nobody even mentioned race until YOU brought it up.

  • So what makes Memphis such a sub standard city then? The amount of fortune 500's HQ'ed here, the food, or the culture? It's amazing no one says make Nashville part of KY. Maybe I'm just sensitive but the underlying reason a lot of the rest of the state hates Memphis is due to the black populace.

  • Wait what? Where did that come from? I'm guessing no one actually hates the city of Memphis and wants Mississippi to annex it. Not really any reason to hate Memphis, I've heard great things about it and would love to go someday. Until someone says "I hate black people", you should really do less assuming. I know I don't take kindly to personal attacks or accusations of being racist. Most people on this board are intelligent and fair, so as Wes would say, simmah down

  • If you didn't say anything negative about the city I wasn't talking to you.

I'm not even sure what this means. Are you saying that the wealth in Memphis is so much that it single-handedly makes Tennessee richer than MS and AL? If you're going to use that statistic then one could also say without the poverty of Memphis then Tennessee's mean income (wealth) would also be much higher. Not to mention education scores... Most people in this thread have said fairly complementary things of the city so I'm not sure why you would wrongly say that Memphis' (inflated) wealth is the only thing that financially separates Tennessee from MS and AL.
