News Flash: Gruden is not the Messiah

  • I'm as excited as everyone else that Gruden is still in play for the job, but please be patient because I don't think he's going to instantly transform us into a super power. Please be realistic AND optimistic. I assume we won't win the championship until 2015 if Gruden climbs aboard!

  • Gruden would instantly turn us into a top three or four recruiting power. That's as close to a messiah as it gets in college football.

I think it would be very naive to assume there isn't enough talent on this roster to build a championship team next year. Not saying it will happen, but it is very naive to think that. This is college football. A RS Freshman quarterback from a formerly non-SEC team just beat Alabama, who is the most heraleded college program right now. IMO. I guess what I'm saying is that anything is possible with the RIGHT coaching move. Not saying it has to be Gruden, but someone with a legendary staff would definitely put me on their wagon.

If Bray, hunter and CP stay and someone can somehow get the defense to not be a complete disaster, UT could challenge for the conference title next year. If they had Any defense this year, they could have beaten UF, GA, MSU, and just about everyone, but Bama.

  • To be honest I'm not even sure if he is the guy that can lead us back to the promised land or not but I do know he is what this program needs right now which is huge news and a shot in the arm which Gruden definitely is

I think it would also be naïve to think that we would beat Oregon at Oregon,Florida at Florida and Alabama at Alabama next year, therefore eliminating any BCS national championship hope we might have.

  • Next year is a write off no matter who the coach is. This is about year two and three.
