If anyone knows Anthony Ward, Brad Summey or Zach Snow can you can ask them to please quit violating our copyrights. Thanks.

Seriously though, these guys need to cut it out. Intellectual property is still property.

  • Just reported them. To bad it 's not easier to report or get them off Facebook. I noticed a lot are popping up on Twitter, the sad part is about Twitter is it is even harder to distinguish who is actually doing leg work on some stories and who is just getting the information off sites like these or other similar sites.

How long are the copyrights enforced? Most everything becomes public knowledge almost instantly. I subscribe here because I like to read Rucker and Ryan, but there is very little info that doesn't show up in the public domain almost simultaneously. Except for that JC Shurburt post about Bell... ;0

I think there is plenty of stuff in the VIP room that doesn't come out publicly.

They always have nuggets about what the staff is thinking about certain players or schemes, or what people in the complex have to say about a new staff, etc.

The breaking news about recruits isn't secret for long, but all of the nuanced info we get about what happens inside the program should only be available here, for the people who pay for these guys to develop relationships that help them deliver the information.

You can't get your pulse on the program outside of these sites, unless you now look at this facebook page that steals their stuff.

  • This really bothers me. If he were just posting tidbits of news that becamse public knowledge, I would understand. Such as, "Joshua Dobbs fips from ASU to UT." But I believe he is in the wrong when he posts an entire article that only paid subscribers are supposed to be reading on an all-access site. He is stealing from Wes, Ryan and Kevin.

  • Remember, Ryan and Kevin are very diligent about taking down copyrighted material from this site (Rucker, not so much). It's a serious issue and there are legal firms that do nothing but copyright work. Those boys better get smart and get that site down because if they are minors then their daddies are going to get some letters also.

  • It's disgusting how many people are commenting on that thread about "the leg work" he puts in to run that page.

    CTRL + C, CTRL + V is not legwork.

  • TNOak, nice job saying something to him. I got a feeling he's got something coming real soon.

Yahoo and CBS are probably a little bit more experienced in this than he is.

Perhaps, but the larger point is served. Loyal members of this site who initially liked Neyland News and were unaware of its copyright violations will now be aware and, perhaps, compelled to unfollow.

Exactly what I did, I went to their FB page posted in their whine about people calling them on their IP theft/ Said my piece and unliked them.

I like all here I pay for this but I'm not naive enough to understand, before paying a subscription that 95% or more of the news and 95% or more of the recruiting info will be public before, with, or shortly after I read it here. The nuggets, they're good stuff for sure, but guys this is the info age. It's not a matter of finding something out or not, is how quickly we find out. I appreciate everything our writers do, but I subscribe to get a fair balanced coverage of the Vols, not for secret information. A court trial would be interesting though.

The issue isn't keeping the info a secret at all costs. The issue is someone setting up an entire facebook page for the explicit purpose of ripping the owners and employees of this site off.

Whether or not it offends you personally, it's copyright infringement and intellectual property theft.

If you started a facebook page and used it to paste Wall Street Journal articles, you'd get a cease and desist letter pretty quickly, just like this jerk is going to.

Denver, you may be right but I'm not sure the copyright for this kind of thing would stand up in court. To me most everything is public domain. Im not sure I've seen much copyrightable info by the letter of the law. If the Facebook guys were making a profit and directly quoting information then that would be different. Many times I've seen owners of all three major UT boards threaten to sue but they haven't done so. For years the rule was to paraphrase info from other sources or directly link it. Anyway this is getting silly and I am getting silly so prolly time to move on.

You may be right. It just strikes me as wrong. I really don't have a clue about the legality of it.

I just want to mess with them for being jerks.
