Your reply indicates that winning at any cost is the best route. I have played team sports, coached and managed teams in sports and business, and the type person that Rogers represents is always - ALWAYS - a distraction to the greater good of the team. It's great to have top talent, but not at the expense of the rest of the team. What he brings to the table in talent, he more than double takes away in chemistry and distractions. There's no room for prima donna attitudes on team that is as potentially fragile as Tennessee is right now in their development. I am a long time UT fan and alumni, and it pains me to see them lose even ONE game a year. But I would rather see the character that Dooley is developing on the team than all the wins that less character-driven schools have (i.e., Miami, SoCal). The wins will come as the character returns to the locker room. True fans and alums will wait and will proud of their Vols - win or lose - and will be there to enjoy the great wins that will eventually come.

wow an amazing first post - welcome to the board +1

  • got to let the hoodlums go, the team is better off without a hood in the locker room. His talent will be missed but UT has talented wrs who can stepup and fill the void.
glad to see CDD do the right thing. Hope UT fans hold on to CDD, he is not only a good coach but a good man and I think he's putting UT back on the right track.

  • It seems to me that DaRick's attitude of challenging "authority" was as much of a reason for his downfall as perhaps the other "reasons". You can't allow the team to be taken over and run by a highly rated player or there will only be chaos. I hate to see the team lose DaRick's talent but I salute CDD for retaining the respect of his team by taking action. We can ill afford another season with a team spirit like we had for the Wildcats game last year. Go big Orange!
