  • North Carolina is a great institution. However, there is no doubt which sport dominates that campus...basketball. UT is one of only a handful of universities in the country where everyone eats, breathes, and sleeps football. I like our chances in a head-to-head against North Carolina! Go Vols!

  • Man Ryan, I thought you were gonna leave us hangin' on whether Ramondo picked up the vibe or not. Saved it for the end I see. Did you seriously think I wouldn't read the entire story if you gave it away earlier?biggrin I feel a little more optimistic about our chances with North but it's really hard to tell when all the info is coming from Pops. But hey, I'll take a nice quiet stud WR that does nothing but catch every ball thrown his way. Orange. GO VOLS!

How you feel about North watauga? I still think we trail. Just don't have a good feeling.

Not Watauga but I think it is so close that UNC has the advantage with the last visit. However, this trip may have been for Dad's benefit and the kid wants to be a Vol. Who knows but like you I don't have the warm fuzzy's.

To me, if UNC leads, then he would have committed when the staff was let go. The North's don't seem to be the drama type to hype all this up. JMO of course.

I think the fact he went out of his way to unofficial this previous weekend was good, but the fact we have a new staff, UNC is his home school, and he saw what Quinshad Davis did last year... I hope I'm wrong.

He's a former college receiver who spent some time in the NFL and NFL Europe, so he has a pretty good understanding of college football and knows the right things to ask.

I'm impressed with Ramondo looking out for his son the way he does. I would be exactly the same way. He had me cracking up with some of his stuff, and bet he's a fun guy to be around too.

North's father is doing a great job watching out for his son to make sure he (R. North) is comfortable with how his son is treated. It's obvious his son doesn't like dealing with all the media interviews and never really has, so his Dad has had to handle that. What video I've seen looks impressive considering his size and speed. He does remind me of a DaRick size/type WR but that's simply because we're watching a "highlight" film. With the loss of our best receivers North will have a chance to play early "and that's no lie".. But he will need to get to Knoxville early in June to be effective and get timing down. IMO The Vols impress him with not only early playing time, WRU and NFL future. BUT I do believe he feels strongly about playing in state and supposedly Fedora is a solid recruiter. His Dad (now that he's seen new staff) appears to be truthful when he says it's up to Quez.

    I agree. Good post.

We could all learn a thing or two from Mr. North. Through his actions, he's showing his son that he cares about him. He's also showing his son that he trusts him to make a good decision. One of the best ways to encourage someone is to show them that you love them and show them that you trust them.

I truly do think Tennessee is the best place for MarQuez to improve as a football player. We have one of the best WR coaches in the country, maybe THE best facilities, and he would benefit from being the focal point of our passing game as much as he would benefit from competing against the nation's best DBs. These are the things that seperate Tennessee from UNC, in my opinion. However, I still get the feeling that he's gonna break our orange hearts.

  • i have no insight, no inside info on North. I think i have ready every article there is to read about him, though, and i still have no clue what he's going to do. On the one hand, im happy he cancelled the Clemson visit to come see us. On the other, im concerned he has a visit left to UNC after us. In the end, i have to believe our depth chart and playing in the SEC wins the battle. He can essentially come in on equal footing with just about every other member of our WR roster, as he will have about the same number of Div. I catches as everyone else.
