With Tennessee’s season officially over, the Vols finally turned their attention Saturday to the ongoing search for their new coach following their 37-17 win over Kentucky.

  • Sounds like bray has been " changing it up" a lot this year to suit him from the way he sounds in that last sentence.

To suit him? He was stating he wanted a chance to give one of his seniors a chance to carry the ball before his last snap as a vol. Bray has actually shown a growth in maturity and leadership this year that a lot of people aren't willing to give him credit for. He is a UT vol, for better or worse and I appreciate that last comment from him. VFL

  • I'm glad Bray got a TD to Zach & Rivera. I wish Bartholomew had gotten more carries -- and maybe a pass or two. Heck, I wish Bartholomew had gotten more carries during the year. But glad to see the Sr's getting some spotlight in their last game.

  • I wonder if there's anything between the lines in Hunter saying he's going to be thinking about who the new coach is -- if that implies anything about his possible return for his Sr season.

  • You can't possibly criticize Tyler for this one... the guy has permission to audible anyways, and honestly... if we're leading Kentucky by as much as we were late I have ZERO problem with him getting carries for Ben. And if Coach Chaney had a problem with it, he's certainly not the kind of guy to hesitate to say something about it after the game. Coach Chaney is nothing if not a straight-shooter.

  • And Coach Franklin is not a "dark horse", he's a very legitimate candidate if we don't land one of our dream candidates and he's interested. I just don't know if he realizes how much of a glass ceiling he's going to hit working with the Vanderbilt administration, and if he'll want to go before the frustration inevitably sets in.

I don't know if Franklins style works at a big time university... Still don't get what's so great about him...his wins and losses to coaches are almost the same as Dooley

  • whats Franklins style, hell of a lot better X and O coach than Fooley. i think they have more 4 and 5 star players on roster from the last couple of classes then the VOLS too GBO

Franklin recruited "more 4 and 5 star players" than Tennessee? Not even close. Franklin signed one 4 star in Kimbrow and has 3 on the line for the 2013 class. He may be fun for Vandy, but not for the Big Orange. If we get that far down on the list, we would be better off bring back Coach Fulmer with Chavis, Martin, etc.

Completely wrong on the recruits... Dooley got better players but Franklin seems to go for broke on the whole under dog thing...what's his angle at a big university, also WHO HAS THIS GUY EVER BEAT!!! If close to winning is the mark of the "next great coach" I'd rather have the ULM coach (or maybe it's ULL)

The main reason Kimbrow went to Vandy is because he acted a damn fool on his visit, Dooley pulled his scholly

Look bro, I was just simply saying who the hell knows how many times bray did this this year and hurt the team, bray seems to want to do things his way and I'm not bashing him just sayin he could have changed a lot of calls and as a result had the wrong one called. I agree give it to the senior but what if he did this against vandy just because he didn't like Dooley? Just sayin.
