I understand what you are trying to say but that 1998 team played some really good teams. That Syracuse team ended up 25 overall and they were ranked 17 when they played Tennessee. I think Syracuse and Arkansas had something to do with UT's performance in those 98 games. Akron should be getting stomped.

Obviously. But this is not an elite team. And I am saying that every team comes out flat more than once every season. Young teams are far more likely to do it than veteran teams, and this team is still very young.

Are you old enough to remember the '70s? We would kill Notre Dame one week and lose to the likes of a totally unknown team like North Texas State the next. Very few wanted Majors fired in those days. There was more patience in the process.
