  • FINAL IN KNOXVILLE: Tennessee 77, Oakland 50.

Game was never close. Oakland scored a couple times late on Vols' reserves.

  • This was a nice dominating win for the Vols tonight.

  • I didn't see the game unfortunately but I'm guessing Oaklands all-world center that they had isn't there anymore.

    Great win by the Vols.

    Great win by the Vols.

Oakland couldn't hit the broad side of a barn, wouldn't hit water falling out of a boat at sea, ect.

Some really good defense by the vols, but lots of bad misses in close and generally quick bad shots by Oakland.

UT dominated in the paint. Not very good team shooting from 3.

  • Great game by the Vols. Wes, was TBA as empty as it looked on tv or was that just done with smoke and mirrors? Thought the stands would be pretty full now that football is over. Anyways, congrats Counzo and Vols. Go thump Georgetown. GO VOLS!

BUTCH IS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART. GO VOLS!

I love this team's toughness in the paint but if they get into a contest that they need to consistently hit outside shots to win, could be bad. Long season though.

Refs allowed the Vols to get physical some on defense for most of the first half. Didn't see as much of the 2nd half, so not sure if they allowed them to continue. But if they are allowed to play that physical man defense, we'll be alright.

3 ball is definitely a problem as tourney season comes. If we can't hit them, it won't matter if we have Stokes and Maymon. We won't keep kicking the ball inside to them all game. You'll see Golden, McBee, and McRae try and equal the other team's bombs.

No one on Oakland could handle Stokes and he hit his free throws tonight. Kenny Hall showed up big on the boards with 11 rebounds, 4 offensive.

I'm really glad to see Hall with some production.

He shot 2 three pointers that had me scratching my head. Looked like Cuonzo was about to replace him after his first one, but there was only like 30 seconds left in the half. Just not a good shot from our center with 20-15 secs left on the shot clock, but he shot another in similar fashion in the 2nd. I guess coach is ok with it.

Otherwise, he was strong in the paint. But he should have been with the way Oakland's inside guys looked. They were just skinny and lanky.

Yeah, Hall shouldn't be taking 3's at any point in the game. Last year, Oakland had a center that nobody could contain at all. Dude was ridiculous.

If he was Hamilton, they mentioned he was now in the top league in Italy. The Hamilton kid had 35 on us last year, most points we gave up to any player all year.

This year they had a younger center and a kid named Bader. Bader was supposed to be a three point specialist. McBee locked him down all night.

Keith Benson is his name. He's in the NBA D league for the Atlanta Hawks.
