The selection committee looks at the teams' overall body of work. They can't and don't exclude certain games just because the opponent was bad. If they started selectively choosing which games to count, then they would be doing a worse job of seeding the tournament, not improving it. I didn't downvote you, but there are clear reasons why the committee can't pick and choose which games to count.

Im definitely with you. We just had a few rough possessions where it looked like we may bring our effort level down. Cant do that in a tournament!

Fresh legs.... I think Tennessee is still the best conditioned team in the SEC to handle 4 games straight, but having those fresh legs for a tough challenge tomorrow would be huge.

I agree that they shouldn't, but any notion that this win today locks us into a national championship tournament seems crazy to me. All this does is add a number to our win column. It doesn't make us any different than or other bubble competitors. My whole point is this. Beating miss state means very little on a large scale where as losing should eliminate us from the conversation. The point is currently mute because we are obviously going to win barring any craziness

my belief that we should, and hopefully WILL, be in the NCAAs if we win this game is NOT based on the "quality" of MSU as an opponent, but based on the fact that i dont think losing to Bama will keep us out. So winning this game should get us to the tournament. But that's jmho. Id rather win this game AND bama and leave no doubt.

I'd stop short of calling Bridgestone Arena a home venue for the Vols, but there's a lot more orange than any other color in here, by far.
