The CheckerBoard

This wasn't exactly for Christmas, but it happened in early December, so it is close enough. Mom and our first child were about to come home from the hospital and I had yet to assemble a quite nice crib bed her grandparents had bought for us.

To get the best light for the job, I decided to do it in the living room. About three hours of work later, it was time to take it upstairs. Of course, old DA then discovered it was too wide to pass through the nursery door! Some profanity later, I realized I could partially disassemble it and get it through. Unfortunately, my sister in law was around so every one got to hear the story, complete with all the embarrassing details.
