    Yeah, a fitting is useful, but I don't think it has to be something you have to be fitted to. Just pick up several putters and see what feels comfortable for you. Think about these things:

    Weight
    Length
    Head Size/Shape
    Lie

    i am curious about the "fatter" grips as well. I have a standard ping grip, which is pretty thin. It seems like the thicker grips might provide more stability..?

    I deleted my previous post. I went back to the golf store at lunch and decided to start over with my search for a new putter. Still like the oversize grips though.
