Been living in Memphis for the past 4 years and the best BBQ I've had here is at the BBQ shop on Madison. Only caveat is to order the pulled pork if you get the sandwich on the toast, otherwise it comes chopped.
Central is a close second. If you get the nachos there, make sure to order them with their chips, not the tortilla chips.
Rendezvous is way overrated in my opinion. Wouldn't even recommend it for the atmosphere.
