OT: Monday night game Jets and Titans

  • Man, what an ugly game. Do you guys think this game was more about how bad Mark Sanchez played or about the Titans defense forcing so many turnovers? Even so, Trent Dilfer said it right. This was absolutely justice that the Jets playoffs hopes ended like that because they've been terrible all year long. Oh and nobody breaks the big one like CJ!

  • I'm a titans fan, and that game was hard to watch. It will be interesting to see where they go in the draft. They should have a high pick.

That game was more about how poorly Sanchez played. The Titans' defense really isn't all that good. The Jets' offensive line obviously isn't very good, either, since the Titans put plenty of pressure on Sanchez throughout the game, and the Titans' pass rush has been inconsistent all year. The Jets were just a train wreck last night, and it was really just an ugly game to watch.

It will be interesting to see which direction the Titans go in the draft. They have plenty of needs to fill, particularly on defense, and they may have a bit of a decision to make on Chris Johnson this offseason. They also need to start rebuilding their offensive line. And is Jake Locker the answer at quarterback? It may be too early to tell, but would the Titans dare consider taking another QB if they're in position to do so?

It should be an interesting offseason for the Titans, but they have a lot of tough decisions to make, perhaps starting at the top with whether Mike Munchak gets a third season as head coach. I'm guessing he will, but some fans seem to want a change.

I don't think the Titans will take a QB with the 8th pick. A defensive lineman seems to make more sense. They might take Bray round 3

Now that would be interesting, although I don't see Bray slipping to the third round.

It's still possible the Titans could end up picking anywhere between third and probably 15th, so I wouldn't pencil them into the No. 8 spot right now. I believe they would have the No. 9 or 10 pick — they're tied for the 9th pick right now, and that tie would be broken by a coin flip — if the season ended today. But either way, considering the way this QB class is shaping up, there could be some good guys available at that spot. Still, I agree that the Titans may be better served by taking a defensive lineman in the first round.

  • TItans need to dump CJ and his gazillion dollar contract, and use that 10 mil or so to shore up the OL. Runningbacks are interchangeable in the NFL. And CJ, for all his homerun speed, is not a back to keep the chains moving. He'll have 5 or 6 runs of no value and then pop a 25 yarder. The ypc is nice, but the Titans need a guy who can guaranteed 3-4 yds a pop on 1st down. Locker would be deadly in 2nd and 3rd and short, with his ability to run and roll out.

Instead, we give it to CJ on first down, odds are he gets tackled for a loss or within 2 yds, and next thing you know Locker is trying to convert a 3rd and 9.

Cut CJ, use his cash to rebuild the OL. Sign a big RB you can use on 1st down. Rebuild the defense through the draft.

  • Titans need to get Jeff Fisher back. They are unwatchable.

I was pretty pissed when they fired him. Say what you will about him not winning a super bowl, but he is a great coach. The way Bud Adams handled him really ticked me off. But, i guess I shouldn't have been surprised with the way they treated McNair (which disgusts me to this day). I can't wait until Bud Adams is no longer running this team.
