Hope we didn't give up too much. Early indications are that it includes Delgado. Really had rather it be Teheran.

If we gave up Delgado for a 35 year old pitcher who probably won't resign with us, I won't be happy

He very well may not but Wren wouldn't trade Minor for Pence last year but is willing to deal Delgado for Dempster?

Dempster will likely re-sign with the Braves.
I agree on your point. It's quizzical at best. The Braves love MM, who is pitching a ton better lately. But I'd rather have traded JT than RD.

Dempster supposedly had the Dodgers 1 and the Braves 2 on his list of potential destinations.
The only thing that bothers me about this trade is that Wren would not trade any of these young pitchers the last couple of years when I would guess he could have made some good deals. Now he deals Delgado for 35 year old Dempster who may not even be back next year. If Dempster signs an extension then this may not be a bad trade, but if he bolts, they have once again given away a good prospect for a 2 month rental.

This is gettin' weird. Hate it for Dempster and Delgado and others, but this is how business is done sometimes in the modern, tech-crazy world.

They owe it to Chipper to win now. Let's face it, we lose some clutch offense when he goes home. Need to do it now and worry more about the future in December. JMO

Two things I can think of that would make sense...
1) Dempster might not be happy that this broke through leaks to Atlanta media and no one told him ahead of time.
2) Braves might be trying to get Dempster to agree to an extension to make sure they're covering their bases on this move, at least for another two years.
JMO. I don't know. Both of those things would make sense, though.
I don't think it's anything to do with him not wanting to be a Brave. I think the Dodgers were first on his list and the Braves were second.
