OT: SEC conference schedule for 2013 FB season

  • I'm posting this in hopes that it will generate some discussion. Based purely on speculation, who do you think has the easiest intra conference schedule next year? The hardest?

  • IMO, Arkansas has the hardest having to play LSU, Bama, A&M, Florida, and USCe.

I think Tennessee or Ole Miss has the easiest. Tennessee's hardest game out of the East is Bama while Ole Miss' is Missouri or Vandy. Ole Miss plays in the West though.

The East wont be anything to shake a stick at next year though. Both divisions have 3 really tough teams in Bama, A&M, and LSU and then Georgia, Florida, and USC.

  • I'm gonna say USCe has the easiest road. They draw MSU and Arky out of the west and get Florida in their home finale... That being said, any SEC schedule is pretty daunting.twocents

  • I noticed a couple things that I wanted to point out:

    1. Georgia finally has to play one of the LSU/Alabama/Texas A&M power trio out of the west. Granted, it's a home game, but after the cream puffs they've played the last few years it's about time they've had to face a tough opponent.

    2. Vandy's not going 8-4 next year. They travel to Florida (where they never win), South Carolina (Clowney will eat that offense), Texas A&M (who returns Johnny Manziel, Mr. Heisman himself), and they have to play us in our house (and I think we get revenge for that debacle in Nashville). Additionally, several of their key players on both sides of the ball have graduated... I can easily see them going 6-6, 5-7 next year. Hope they're to anchor back down in mediocrity.

    3. Auburn has one hell of a 3 game road stretch (at Texas A&M, at Arkansas, at Tennessee). They could be exhausted by the time they come to Neyland, which makes me feel good about our chances of winning.

  • there was an ESPN insider article the other day that talked about who in the major conf. had the hardest schedules and who had the easiest. ND and Tennessee were mentioned as having the hardest in the country (including non-conf) and Tenn. was said to have the hardest in the SEC. Alabama, meanwhile, was said to have the easiest.

Not that it really matters in Jan/Feb, but it's interesting none the less.
