That part pissed me off sooo much, if only because it was so predictable. My first thought when he walked by that body was "it's still alive". I probably over analyze things (heck, I know that I do when it comes to relationships, but I digress), but here's my two cents: you're living in a post apocalyptic world with a bunch of undead flesh eaters. Why on earth would you not take a sword or katana or something and slice open the skull of every zombie that's lying on the ground, just to make sure they're dead? It may be impractical, but would you rather run the risk of getting you're freaking leg chewed off???? Ugh, why Hershel, why?!?!?!?!?!?! upset

  • I figured there would be other survivors inside the jail. I just wonder if Rick woulda bothered with cutting Hershel's leg off if he didnt need him to deliver the baby.

I have read all of the comic books that this series is based on. It has followed pretty closely with a few exceptions. It was Dale that got his leg hacked off in the comic books but he got eaten last season. This should be a exciting season. The governor that will be introduced in the next few weeks is a brutal, brutal, SOB!!! Michonne is also pretty dad gum awesome. She hacked off the arms and lower jaws of those two zombies she leads around behind her so they couldn't bite anymore.

He might have. After all, Maggie was there and I doubt she would've just sat back and watched her daddy die.

I've read up on the comic books out of curiosity. It's really interesting to see what elements of the comics transfer over.

Such an awesome season premiere. Seems like this season won't drag like last season did, with the missing Sophia storyline.

  • I just don't understand how that zombie decided to play possum and magically wake up? Highly unlikely lol

Such is the anomaly in all zombie films/shows - the zombies don't all act the same, generally for the sake of plot development. Of course, the easiest explanation for this is that all of those zombies were trapped in the prison with no food for who knows how long. Possum Zombie could've been "awoken" by the proximity of Herschel's flesh. And there are flashes of zombie intelligence: Morgan's Zombie Wife who tried to open the door by twisting the handle, or the RV Zombie who figured out where Andrea was. Any inconsistencies can be explained with the 'Well, every zombie is different' cop-out. But I agree, it's an iffy plot device by the writers.

  • The part where Herchel got bitten was pretty freakin gruesome! Not gonna lie, I cringed a little bit when I saw that.
