I actually wasn't a huge fan of Pulp Fiction, believe it or not. I'm just not a huge Tarantino fan--although I did love Django Unchained. And the Big Lebowiski is definitely up there, but I don't know if it's top 5 worthy.

Not in any particular order

1) The Shawshank Redemption
2) The Dark Knight
3) Fight Club
4) Pulp Fiction
5) The Matrix

I could also throw in The Lord of the Rings, A Few Good Men, Forrest Gump, Seven and American Beauty

Alright; I'll play. I agree completely with Motown Vol. Ought to be a top 10, IMO. Not in any particular order:

1. The Shawshank Redemption (only listed it first, since it seems to be near unanimous)
2. Saving Private Ryan
3. The Green Mile
4. Inglourious Bastards (perhaps the best villian performance in movie history, IMO, plus Brad Pitt's intentionally bad Maynardville, TN, accent is hilarious)
5. War Horse

And a second five:

6. The Lost Battalion (a hidden gem, often avoided b/c the former "little Ricky Schroeder" stars, and does one heck of a job)
7. The War of the Roses (perhaps the best dark comedy of all time)
8. Gods and Generals (beats out Gettysburg by a nose, since the South won the battle of Fredricksburg)
9. Empire of the Sun (It barely makes the time frame: Christian Bale, as a young boy, does a faaar better acting job than as Batman, while playing a formerly spoiled rich brat stuck in a Japanese POW camp in WWII, who learns to become hardened and streetsmart from a fellow prisoner, played by John Malkovich).
10. Schindler's List (aren't you kind of morally obligated to put it here, even if you felt horribly uncomforable watching it?).

Several more throw-ins I couldn't resist: If we go back to the early '80s, Amadeus is maybe my #1 of all time.

"LOL funniest" movie of all time: Monty Python's Search for the Holy Grail

As a big horse fan who grew up with them, my favorite "brush with celebrity" was having the chance to "meet" Secretariat (yes, more special to me than the time I met Peyton), hold his lead and rub his nose at Claiborne before he died, so the movie is incredibly important to me, even though it shouldn't be on a "best of" list.

My Top 5 movies from of the last 25 years? Well, no way I can justify listing just 5, so here's a Top Ten (take into account that I owned movie theaters for almost a decade during that time period, so...).
