The fact that so few people on here have the big lebowiski as one of there favorites is DISTRUBING! I know the last couple of years for ut sports has been rough, but geez, we are talking about one of the funniest movies of all time not to mention overall film in the last twenty five years. Have you lost your humor people! I didn't watch my buddies die face down in the mud to hear you people disrespect this piece of cinematography GOLD. THIS UNCHECKED AGGRESSION WILL NOT STAND, MAN!

I might have to disagree with you, you make a good point, but something about the dude.........I think it's there best, call me crazy you definitely wouldn't be the first.

I just remembered a classic that my wife and I love- Office Space.

I tried to not only pick my favorites, but also stay away from the ones that most people picked. I ended up with eight instead of five.

There's too many to mention, but for my money, it's: 1) The Shawshank Redemption 2) Saving Private Ryan 3) Schindler's List 4) Pulp Fiction 5) The Green Mile.

Personally, I think all 3 of the Lord of the Rings movies should make the list, but it feels like cheating to put a movie trilogy in the top five (since I assume this list is for standalone films, not works that are part of a trilogy; if we were talking trilogies, it would easily be #1).
