Grew up n Blaine, Tn outside of Knoxville, TN. Went to Rutledge HS and then Pellissippi State and now work in Knoxville. I love this area.

Any chance you know Lou Edgar? Salesman for Rarity Bay. Have known him and his family for years. They are from Myrtle.

Like the handle suggests, grew up and currently live in Pittsburgh PA. UT Class of 1990. Born a yankee but southern by choice...if you'll have me.
I love the south and miss East Tennessee.

My name should give it away for life long Tennesseans, if not, I live outside the bustling metropolis of Benton,Tn. Nothing here but beautiful East Tennessee scenery and a world famous speed trap, the later which, most locals including myself, are ashamed of.

You must have stopped at Pam's Restaurant....I understand that Pam is battling cancer....but they do have pretty good groceries. Haven't been on the corner there in years,,used to be a great places for 'dogs and beer. Spent a lot of time around the corner at The Bowery when there was a band called Wild Country playing...they hire a PR man that worked at the same radio station in Hartsville that I did...of course the band changed their name to Alabama and you know the rest of that story. We'll definitely have to stop at Peaches when I get there.

My wife recently got a speeding ticket (about 80 bucks) in Benton on the way back from visiting her family in Atlanta. I got a $130 ticket in Etowah last Easter morning (at 9 am) on the way to celebrate with her family. I've gotten 2 tickets over the years for speeding through Fairmont, Ga (on the Hwy 411 route to Atl), and those are the only tickets we've gotten in our lives for speeding, after driving all over the US and in many foreign countries. Go figure: all of them on US Hwy 411. I now only drive up and down I-75.

Grew up all over east Tn. (Athens, Kingsport, Johnson City, Knoxville). Graduated Bearden HS in Knoxville then spent the next 23 years in military housing mostly at Ft. Bragg and Ft. Benning. Retired in 2004 and have been working at NSRDEC in Natick, MA. ever since. It's funny. Couldn't wait to leave and see the world, now I can't wait to get back to east Tennessee.
