Oh I wasn't blaming the drugs, just all the other crap lol. Theres many cocaine users still running around. Plus I am not sure it was an OD, could have been but I will hold judgement on that part.

I don't know why but I'm really taking Whitney's death hard. I thought reading about my VOLS in the VIP Room would help since I have no true connection to her but I'm still walking around numb. I know I'm a child of the '80s but I'm not one to idolize people since I've been around a lot of athletes and famous people in my life. So I'm really wiggin out on how much this is affecting me. My only relief seems to be watching old Youtube clips of her performances. I thought I'd share my favorite performance that I've found. This is her at the "Welcome Home Heroes" concert in 1991.

That's odd. I kinda felt that way myself. Whitney Houston seemed just another singer on the radio when I was growing up, and she was never one of my favorite singers/bands -- but when she died, I thought what an incredible voice she had. Various songs she'd sung kept popping back into my mind over the weekend. I'd never really appreciated her voice as a kid in the 80's, but her death really struck me as a big loss, and I kept thinking about it.
I look with skepticism (and often much worse) at most in Hollywood, and have never seen them as "roll models." That said, I don't understand why those who seem "clean cut" often want to take a walk on the wild side. Publicist's advice? Culture of Hollywood? ? Seems always a self-destructive path, even when it doesn't lead to death at a prematurely young age.
I was sorry to hear about her death and pray she rests in peace.
