OT: Xavier beats #16 St Louis 77-66

  • This should help our case for tourney. Remember we beat Xavier in December. Definitely helps!

  • All the bubble teams helped themselves today... Big game for Kentucky tomorrow @ UGA. They MUST win that game.

Off topic but WTF is Cuonzo talking about getting 6 SEC teams in. What a load of crap that is. 4 is the max, the conference blows. He sounds like an ACC Football coach pitching his teams SOS.

I was at the game and I'm not still not sure how UT won. It was the ugliest of the Cuonzo era IMO and that is saying something

Xavier beat Memphis last Sat too. Their RPI is now 86. UMass victory is helping too. They're 55. Missouri is now 29. We beat them and our odds are pretty good.

  • How much information does the selection commitee factor in? Like we beat Xaiver in middle of a 4 game skid for them it doesn't seem that impressive to me even if they are playing well now the seasons so long that's a different team. I don't know there's alot of information to process but I wonder how
Much an early season win like that factors in?

They always show those graphics of Wins vs RPI 1-25... Wins vs RPI Top 50.... and Wins vs RPI Top 100

This page on CBS is awesome. Now you only have 2 wins against the RPI Top 50 which sucks for a tourney team. But if Umass can make a run Starting tonight HOME against Butler you could have 3 Top 50 wins. There's so much information. It's fun to disect.

Another Big factor for the committee is Victories on the Road or Neutral Court. For example Arkansas looks like the 95 Bulls at Home, but the 2013 Bobcats on the road.

Took a look at this. It's a fantastic site because it shows how exciting and frustrating being on the bubble can be. Being a bubble team means you need to not just perform well but also have teams you beat perform well and there are so many scenarios
