I have been reading a lot for my college English classes the last few semesters. Enjoyed it so much I now want to teach English. Was never much of a reader until I started college at 24. Crazy right. Now I love it. Too bad I don't have more time to read an easy book on the side

Finished up a book about a month ago about Stan Musial written by George Vescey. Just started on the Brokaw book The Greatest Generation.

Read a couple chapters of my old Hardy Boys books with my sons every night before bed.

Last night was great. My 5-year-old says, "Dad, how come Frank and Joe don't call someone on their cell phone when they're in trouble."

I told them the book was written in 1962 - and many people didn't even have a TV then.

Finished Ivanhoe last week and began Don Quixote on Tuesday. If you're into classic literature, you can't go wrong with Hawthorne, Dumas, Faulkner, Dickens, etc.

Also read all of the Hardy boy's adventures when I was little.

Nowadays I'm much more into technical / science stuff - especially technical investigative things. If you like science and technical stuff, some good reading: NTSB Accident reports and public dockets. (Generally much more info and detail in the individual documents of the public docket than gets put into the final accident report.)

Things NASA. NASA has a great website full of science reading. One of the best investigations I've read is the Columbia Crew Survival Investigation Report. (Found here: http://www.nasa.gov/pdf/298870main_SP-2008-565.pdf ). This report details exactly how the ship broke up - in detail. It focuses only on the time from deorbit preparation to final ground impact. Photos of recovered pieces, etc. The CAIB report did not go into very much detail, it mostly focused on the overall cause (hole in the leading edge RCC) and the institutional issues that lead to the catastrophe. The Survival report goes into intimate detail of the progression of damage and the breakup.
