Going to UT currrently, but I've been a big orange fan since I knew what a football was
Born in Knoxville in1959. Lived just off of Middlebrook Pike close to Bearden Middle School. Then move to Black Oak, where my grandfather, who was a Baptist minister, has the sanctuary at Black Oak Baptist church named in his honor. I moved to SC when I was 4 yrs old because Dad took a job with the paper company based here. When we would visit Knoxville, all I ever saw was UT orange. My first VOL jersery as a kid was #44 because I was a Bobby Majors fan. Since I was still living in SC at college I attended Clemson University. I was there when Clemson defeated Ohio State in Jacksonville and Woody Hayes hit Charlie Bauman after be made the interception that sealed the win. I am very passionate about my Tigers (defend them here) but nothing replaces UT as #1 to me. One day I will make the move back home. As always...GO VOLS!!!
Man, I don't know - I just always was. My Dad/family wasn't particularly interested in UT and noone in the family attended there, but I was always a UT guy. I remember the loss to Vandy in '75 - I was 7 at the time. Even then, I couldn't imagine us losing to Vandy. Vandy! I remember that I was at a babysitters during the game and had made completely sure that I'd have a radio available to hear the game beforehand, so I had obviously been a fan for quite a while already.
