I take Chipper.
And if you restarted their careers 10 times from their draft date, I think Chipper beats Jeter 9/10 times. Jones has gotten SO unlucky with injuries, especially the last decade.

Tough to compare the two as they are very different players, but they both were at their peaks around the same time. I'm a big Braves fan so I am going to be biased, but I take Chipper. Whose team would have won more games with out either of the respective players, and its the Yankees. after Chipper's first 5-6 years, once Mr. Turner sold the team, Atlanta became a mid-market ball club. The Yankees would have found another SS, and still won. In season's Chipper has been hurt, they have been really bad. He has anchored the middle of the lineup for 2 decades and the last one he has done it with no cartilage in either knee, yet he still hits over 300. I don't want this to sound like I am discounting Jeter at all, I hate the Yankees, but I love him as a player. He is going to retire with no less than 3500 hits (hell he has over 160 already this year at the age of 38), 250 homeruns and a BA that should remain well over 300, the stats don't lie. I just feel that Chipper has meant so much more to his team and has had to carry them for so long.
Good arguement though and will expect that they are both sure fire hall of famers.
