Sean Payton of New Orleans Saints set to be highest-paid coach, source says - ESPN
Sean Payton's five-year contract extension with the New Orleans Saints is expected to pay him more than $8 million annually, which should establish him as the NFL's highest-paid coach, a league source said.

I never said he wanted the "vacation", or that he enjoyed it...didn't even insinuate it. Just a figure of speech....Reputation is only tarnished by some of his own actions. I thought the punishment was extreme, and ill deserved, but non the less, he now has the oppurtunity to salvage his reputation, and redeem himself by being the highest paid coach in the NFL....Funny how that works huh. Do something wrong, get punished, then get a HUGE raise! I wonder how that would work in the real world?

Why? It's not like he reinvented the wheel on bounties in the NFL.... The players themselves played just as much a role in this as any.... It had been going on long before it became an issue.... The Saints just got the bad end of deal when concussions/player safety became such a bigger issue for NFL than it ever was in the past.
