I've took time to collect my thoughts about this game. I'm still positive about the season and the direction of this program. But, I'm calling out Coach Harry Heinstand. The offensive line's performance for the last 2 seasons is not at an SEC level. No more excuses the line is young. As the abve poster said, Fulmer usually produced good offensive lines. Heck, under Kiffy, James Craig had 2 walk ons and we ran the ball just fine. The talent is there, I'm not confident in the coaching at this position.

I agree in that I do not see good fundamentals on running plays. On the run, the OL must go low and attack. They seem to approach run blocking like pass protection, standing up and waiting to be engaged. Maybe I'm missing something, but that's what I'm seeing.

I've wondered for the last 1.5+ years why everyone was so quick to anoint this O line as remarkably can't miss. As a whole, they weren't super high recruits. I suppose it was because they were more promising than what we currently had and they were all young. Now they are maturing and aren't living up to the probably unrealistic expectations of most of our fans. I agree that they should be capable of blowing up of first two opponent's D lines and running at will, but that didn't happen. I blame the o-line coach for that in a lot of ways. Any line that can adequately pass block should be able to man handle Montana and Cincy, but it appears to me they might not be as physically gifted as many of our fans erroneously thought they would be. Coaching is certainly a part of the problem along with unrealistic expectations IMO.

Stone 4star, James 4star, Bullard 4star, Richardson 4star...maybe you miss on one or two but not the entire front. This is looking more like coaching. Hate to say it. I say switch it up and put Bullard at center and Stone in a more natural position. His errant snaps threw the timing off on multiple plays. How much better would Bray have been with good snaps. How many sacks, hurries or knock downs of Bray would have been avoided with good shotgun snaps.

After thinking about it I may agree with RockytopATL who posted earlier that they seem to use the same technique for run blocking that they use for pass blocking. They wait for contact from the defense and don't initiate in order to get a push. it does not make sense.

Back in the the dark ages when I played, I had the opposite problem. I had to fight the urge to go attack in pass protection like I did on runs instead of standing up, backing up and forming the pocket and waiting to be hit. But initiating contact always made more sense to me. After all, I knew the snap count; the defender didn't.

Shoeless, this is one of those days I'd have a hard time going on without alcohol. Once upon a time, I'd declare a season over after our first loss (usually to Florida). I'm not that bad anymore.
But this feels like '85 when our QB, Tony Robinson went down, I think against Alabama, though I may be wrong on which game. I thought it was the end.
But a little known sub named Daryl Dickey (Doug's son) came off the bench and made history. I wish something like that would happen with one of these WRs.
