This is a great thread idea. I'm a big Manchester United fan and I even skipped church today to watch the game (something is definitely wrong with me). Huge win for the Red Devils today especially since we haven't won at Anfield in 6 trips.
JMO but the league looks like it's as tough as it has been since I've been watching it. Teams like Everton, Fulham, and Swansea look like they can challenge for the top 4 and others have improved as well. I think West Ham will be tough when Carroll is in the lineup and if QPR would get a coach they could make noise also. They have too much talent to be sucking it up like they're doing.
Anyhow, great idea for this thread and should be a lot of fun this season.

I'll be up watching it. I love getting up early on Saturday mornings to watch a game regardless of who is playing. I consider this as big of a part of my fall as watching American football.

The thrill of a goal much like Koscielny's goal today is unmatched IMO of any sporting event. When you watch the replay, and see the Arsenal players celebrating in front of there supportors, it is truly something special. It gives me goosebumps everytime. Love taking away points from those sleezy billionares of Man City to. There is a Soccer Bar in Philly called Fado, I think it might be a chain, but I will be there next week with a buddy. Nothing better then a 7:30AM Irish Car Bomb.

I've attached a link to the updated standings for the Premier League as of today (9/24). I know Liverpool's not very good this year, but it's strange to see them down near the bottom. It's a long season, so I'd say their chances of being relegated are still quite low, but they're going to need to find some measure of consistency or there will be plenty of angst to be had in Anfield.
Also, the biggest matchup of the week is (obviously) Arsenal vs. Chelsea. Hopefully we'll be able to analyze this game and make some predictions before Saturday.

Some results from Capital One Cup play that went on today:
Chelsea smashed Wolverhampton 6-0.
The douche bags at Manchester City fell to Aston Villa 4-2.
Leeds defeated Everton 2-1.
Wigan actually won a game, 4-1, over West Ham.
And Swansea beat something called a Crawley Town (reminds me of crawfish boil) 3-2.
Those were the only Premier League teams in action today. Capital One Cup play continues tomorrow as Man U takes on Newcastle, and Arsenal takes on Coventry.

I actually play Premier League fantasy on espn.com and like it pretty well. I also joined one on facebook this year, but haven't played it enough to know what to think just yet.
Bought my copy of Fifa 13 for the 360 tonight. Haven't played any actual games yet, but they have made a lot of changes. Unless I'm missing something, you can only create a Virtual Pro in career mode and nothing else. Not really a fan of this, but it does look like it could be interesting since you can play for club and country. Career mode only consists of player and manager mode and not player/manager mode. Hopefully I'll get to play a bit more this weekend and get a better feel for it.
