One game per year!

  • I'm as big a traditionalist as it comes, but at the end of the day, one game per year doesn't seem to much to ask. If ND can shed the tradition for a game, so can TN. The recruits want it, and it ignites the fan base a little bit, which let's be honest, TN needs! Brian Kelly even said so in his interview and was spot on!

"You want to be in that group of football programs that has 'College GameDay' on your campus," Kelly said during his Sunday teleconference. "You want to be that program that appeals to the audience that we're out recruiting."

We need to embrace the culture that wants these uniform because that culture is the 4 and 5 star players. I know Bama doesn't do that and is ok, but they're also winning! I can't stand South Carolina and this video gets me pumped somewhat! Go Vols.

  • I don't mind 1 alternate uniform for 1 game each year. However, it is not excusable for them to be as ugly as what ND wore.

  • I agree we need a change occasionally but those uniforms are hideous!

Same for the SC pants shown in that video. Buttugly.

  • I am all for a 1-week uniform change to excite the fanbase and players.

  • I've always wanted to see grey in a uniform. I think Dark grey with orange would be sweet even if it was just a stripe on the orange jersey, solid grey pants with the power T and a grey helmet with the T on it

I could really careless about the uniform (as long as they look good) because at the end of the day a new colored helmet won't make you run faster, hit harder, or throw the ball further, However, if it inspires the fanbases, intrigues recruits, and motivates the team, then 1 game a year is probably worthwhile. Some other benefits:

    1) People will always buy alternate jerseys so the royalties would be great for our beat up funds
    2) Have the players sign their uniforms and sell them with the benefit going to charity. I know many pro teams do this with alt jersey's at different times of the year.

    My 2 cents

Wouldnt number 2 be a violation

  • As long as we stay away from the Maryland look, I'm ok with it.

It would be an NCAA violation. They can't even put a player's name on the back of a jersey for sale, much less an autograph.

Got it, didn't realize the violation. Obviously players selling their own jersey's is a violation, was just trying to think outside the box for positives. Some sort of charity related purpose could be devised though.
