Opinions of Jimbo Fisher?

  • I wouldn't absolutely hate it like I would hate hiring Smart, Tommy T, or some no name but the guy is pretty overrated in my opinion. He can't even win the ACC at FSU in the conference's all time low ebb. I've never understood the infatuation with Jimbo

Jimbo was Bowden's OC for 3yrs before he took over so I would assume that most of those guys where right up Jimbo's alley?? As far as who we get, yes I would LOVE TO HAVE GRUDEN!! But if he's not in Knoxville next year I won't complain at all as long as the right hire is made.     I actually thought Kiffin did well with a weaker roster. All his recruits were freshman. You cannot expect that many freshmen to do work that early, and when Kiffin bolted so did his recruits.

    Kiffin had 5 or 6 draft picks on his one UT team that he coached. He didn't have that weak of a roster. He had a full senior roster with some really good players. And the East was down.

  • Jimbo is as overrated as they come. His team played Murray St. AND Savannah St. to start the year and then complains about being under ranked. Dude, play some real teams and then talk. FSU is overhyped going into every season and then falls on their face. That doesn't speak too highly for him considering they recruit Florida as well as anyone and still can't get over the hump. To me, I would rather hire an overachiever from a middle of the road team.

    A weak roster?? Really??That roster he had here wasn't exactly weak?? He had Eric Berry 1st round, Dan Williams 1st round, Montario Hardesty 2nd round, Jacques McClendon 4th round, Chris Scott & Jonathan Crompton 5th round and 3 free agent sign. UT was 3rd in the SEC that year for players drafted behind Alabama (7) & UF (9). He gets to USC ,which is where I was referring to his poor coaching, his recruiting classes are 2010: #1, 2011: #4 and 2012: #8 and has a very talented roster and getting spanked right and left as he did today. Obviously ALL Lane Kiffin is so far is a great recruiter and that's pretty much it so far.
